Seventh Hall Lore - Golden Moss

Deep in the caverns of the world of Alniron, where no sunlight touches, a moss grows.

Dwarves discovered it eons ago, the first ancestors that dug into the earth and ventured into the caves.

However, this moss isn’t like any old moss.

It glows.

Some strange and unknown property of the moss grants its creeping tendrils a yellowish hue.

Thus, they named it Golden moss.

Not enough to brighten a room, it casts enough light to dispel the darkest areas of the deep.

The poorer dwarves of Zirad even use it on their walls as a light source, keeping it trimmed to limit its light.

Dwarves have even adapted it into a crop, using it in their meals and as a light source for their underground farms.

It grows best in dry, sandy soil, but can survive in other types, and can even grow on solid stone.

It propagates by division, and can be transported outside as long as the rays of the sun don’t touch it.

Underground it is a hardy plant, requiring minimal water and only enough room to spread out into the wide patches of vaguely circular shapes it inhabits.

But if sunlight touches its skin, it shrivels and burns.

The Seventh Hall Expedition brings a barrel with them, packed in tight layers and sealed to keep it fresh during the weeks long journey.

Cast in your lot with them, if you dare, and discover why they’ve been given the easiest dwarven crop to grow and tend, providing the highest chances of survival for the lowest cost to the Kingdom.
